A telescopic hydraulic jack is a special design of jack that provides a long output travel from a very compact retracted length. Telescopic jacks are typically used for shop work, rather than as an emergency jack to be carried with the vehicle. This type of jack is not designed for a specific vehicle and requires more than the usual care in selecting ground conditions and the jacking point on the vehicle and ensuring stability when the jack is extended.
